Bookings now being taken for the 2017 GLAA Conference
1st February 2017
Major players from the UK’s battle to stamp out labour abuse are to take to the stage when the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority hosts its first ever National Conference later this year.
Running under the banner of Tackling Labour Exploitation Together the event will be held at the world-famous Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham on 11 October 2017.
Delivering keynote speeches to delegates will be the new Director of Labour Market Enforcement Sir David Metcalf CBE and the UK Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner, Kevin Hyland OBE, plus the Chair of the GLAA.
Chief Executive Paul Broadbent, who will also be speaking, said: “Our conference will give all stakeholders – new and existing - an opportunity to find out what the changes will mean.
“We’ll explain how the new GLAA will work with businesses, as well as law enforcement, Non-Government Organisations, and Government agencies as part of the UK’s Modern Slavery Strategy. We’ll also look at what challenges we could all face in the future.”
The event will also incorporate four interactive workshops based on the four main pillars of the UK’s Modern Slavery Strategy - prevent, protect, pursue and prepare.
The price is set on a cost-recovery basis with delegates paying just £125 per person for a full day including all refreshments. More details on the day and how to secure a place and booking terms and conditions are available on the link below.
