Senior Field Intelligence Officer
Duration – Permanent
£30,500 per annum plus additional benefits
Home-based, covering the North-West region

The Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) is one of the principal investigative law enforcement bodies for labour exploitation in the UK. We licence labour providers in certain employment sectors and enforce the provisions of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004. We also have powers to ensure vulnerable workers are more effectively protected from being abused for their labour, such as police-style powers of arrest, and increased powers to search for and seize evidence. The GLAA is able to investigate labour exploitation offences under National Minimum Wage, Employment Agencies as well as Modern Slavery Act.

We are currently recruiting for position of Senior Field Intelligence Officer to join our Intelligence team.
The role will be home-based with majority of work being conducted in the field, covering the Northwest region, with primary responsibility for covering the police force areas of North Wales / Cheshire / Merseyside / Greater Manchester / Lancashire / Cumbria.
The focus of this role will be to support the Intelligence function of the GLAA in the gathering, recording, risk assessment, analysis and development of information received from a variety of open and closed sources.
The post holder will research and develop actionable intelligence products in connection with the investigation of serious labour exploitation and offences as defined within the operational remit of the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority. In addition, the post holder will develop and maintain close and effective working liaison with law enforcement and all relevant partner agencies in order to produce and maintain an accurate assessment of the extent of labour exploitation within the UK. The post holder will also identify, assess feasibility and deploy proactive investigative methodologies in support of GLAA operational activities.
