Man arrested in unlicensed gangmasters probe

28th September 2018

A Romanian man has been arrested on suspicion of providing workers without a licence following a joint operation in the South of England.

Officers from the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) arrested the 21-year-old on suspicion of acting as an unlicensed gangmaster yesterday (Thursday 27 September). He has been released under investigation as the inquiry continues.

Six Romanian nationals were also spoken to at the time by GLAA officers, who were supported by West Mercia Police. The allegations relate to the fresh fruit supply industry in Evesham, Worcestershire.
