The Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) is one of the principal investigative law enforcement bodies for labour exploitation in the UK. We licence labour providers in certain employment sectors and enforce the provisions of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004. We also have powers to ensure vulnerable workers are more effectively protected from being abused for their labour, such as police-style powers of arrest, and increased powers to search for and seize evidence. The GLAA is able to investigate labour exploitation offences under National Minimum Wage, Employment Agencies as well as Modern Slavery Act.

We are currently recruiting for position the of HR Assistant to join our People and Change team.
The focus of this role will be to provide a proactive and value-added HR support service internally to the People and Change team, line managers and all staff within the GLAA; and to provide an efficient and professional service to external stakeholders, including potential recruits.
Reporting to the Senior HR Officer the role is the first point of contact for all HR related queries and is responsible for providing support via email, telephone and in person where necessary. The role provides support throughout the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment, onboarding, probation, training and development and leaver processes. The role offers varied tasks and autonomy in a small, friendly team.
