At GLAA we are an inclusive team who are passionate about protecting vulnerable and exploited workers. We are keen to effectively represent the communities that we serve and as such are looking to encourage applications from a diverse range of backgrounds. Equality, diversity and inclusion is at the heart of our organisation, as are our values of integrity, respect, commitment, professionalism and teamwork.

We are looking for individuals who are excited by the opportunity to improve the lives of others, who live our values, and who enjoy working as part of a passionate and committed team.

The Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) is one of the principal investigative law enforcement bodies for labour exploitation in the UK. We licence labour providers in certain employment sectors and enforce the provisions of the Gangmasters (Licensing) Act 2004. We also have powers to ensure vulnerable workers are more effectively protected from being abused for their labour, such as police-style powers of arrest, and increased powers to search for and seize evidence. The GLAA is able to investigate labour exploitation offences under National Minimum Wage, Employment Agencies as well as Modern Slavery Act.

The postholder will assist in the development of actionable intelligence products in connection with enforcement or compliance activities falling within the operational remit of the GLAA. In addition, where the information received is not relevant or of poor quality, provide feedback to partner agencies to ensure continuous improvement.

In addition, on a rota basis the post holder will manage calls and correspondence from vulnerable workers, members of the public and partner agencies in accordance with GLAA Standard Operating Procedures.
