How to pay for a licence

Please do not to send any post, especially if urgent or payments, to the GLAA offices as the office building is closed and we cannot access it.
We’d encourage people to make payments via BACS where possible – please get in touch via email if this is an issue. Email: finance@gla.gov.uk
Below is a list of ways you can pay your licence fee and application inspection charge. Please note, your application will not be processed if you fail to pay the full amount.

BACS
BACS is the electronic three-day payment clearing system. If you want to pay by BACS, contact your Bank or Building Society and give them the GLAA’s bank account details. Please quote your GLAA unique reference number (URN) as the reference.
CHAPS
CHAPS is the electronic same day payment clearing system. If you want to pay by CHAPS, contact your Bank and given them the GLAA’s bank account details. Please quote your GLAA unique reference number (URN) as the reference.
Faster Payments Services (FPS)
Faster Payments is a same day payment clearing scheme for sterling payments in the UK. If you want to pay by FPS, contact your Bank and ask if it is a member of the FPS scheme. If they are, give them the GLAA’s bank account details and quote your GLAA unique reference number (URN) as the reference.
International Credit Transfers
For payments from bank accounts outside of the UK, please provide your bank with the following information:
