Freedom of Information Act Request

Ref: FOI 21-22 41

Date issued: 07 April 2022

Subject: GLAA IT Expenditure

Question(s):

1.    Can you please list the number of devices deployed by your organisation for the following? (Desktop PCs and laptops, mobile phones, printers, tablets, servers, storage devices, networking infrastructure, security infrastructure).

2.    Does your organisation have any plans for refreshing or replacing the above devices?

3.    Does your organisation have any plans for developing, refreshing, or replacing IT or ICT software applications?

Response:

Q1 The number of devices deployed by our organisation is dynamic. As of 30/03/2022 119 laptops, 78 printers and 99 mobile phones and 1 tablet have been deployed to GLAA staff. Our networking and security infrastructure is provided via the Home Office.

Q2 & Q3. Our IT equipment is provided via the Home Office and is part of a wider Home Office contract the GLAA has. The GLAA does not hold details of IT contracts or service and are not charged for the provision. You may wish to submit an FOI to the Home Office at foirequests@homeoffice.gov.uk.

Under the FOI Act, certain information is exempt from release. One exemption (under section 21 of the Act) applies to information that is accessible to the applicant by other means. Your request regarding expenditure on IT falls into this category. Details of expenditure on IT can be found in our Annual Report and Accounts available online here: https://www.gla.gov.uk/media/7946/glaa-ara-2020-21-large-format_elay.pdf.
