FOI 23-24 16 National Referral Mechanism and Duty to Notifies in the care sector

Ref: FOI 23-24 16

Date issued: 12 September 2023

Subject: National Referral Mechanism and Duty to Notifies in the care sector

Question(s):
I would like to know, for 2021, 2022 and 2023 so far:
1. The number of NRM/DTN referrals made by the GLAA where potential victims were working in a care home setting.
For each referral could you also provide:
2. A brief explanation as to the victims’ circumstances (including but not limited to: inappropriate living conditions, working more than the recommended hours, bonded labour etc)
3. Each victim's nationality
4. A general geographic area (e.g South East England, etc)

Response:
This information is not recorded in a way that is easily extracted. To find this information would require a manual search. Our assessment is that the length of time to undertake this activity would exceed the cost thresholds set out under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and therefore we are unable to provide an answer to your questions.
