Request for information about T&S Abattoir

Freedom of Information Act request.

Ref: FOI 25-26 15

Date issued: 28 May 2025

Subject: Request for information about T&S Abattoir

Question:

On Monday 3rd March 2025 officers from Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority visited my business premises [T&S Abattoir] along with several other agencies. This was at the behest of the local MP, Jodie Gosling.

Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and as a public body please supply to me all information that you hold or have received since 1st July 2024 to include printed documents, computer files, letters, emails, photographs, and sound or video recordings.

Furthermore, please also provide any draft documents and correspondence received by the authority. Recordings of telephone conversations and CCTV recordings can be also requested.

Finally, please provide the names of your officers who attended my premises, Monday 3rd March 2025 and all reports, photographs or video recordings made.

Our response:

The GLAA was asked to attend your premises to talk to workers. However, it was determined that workers fell outside the GLAA Regulated Sectors and therefore we did not engage in the process. Therefore, we do not hold the information you have requested.

We suggest you direct your FOI request to Warwickshire Police. Under our Duty to Assist (section 16), you can contact Warwickshire Police via their website: Make an FOI request to ask for information about the police | Warwickshire Police.

In terms of providing the names of our colleagues, we are not obliged, under section 40(2) of the FOIA to provide information that is the personal information if releasing it would contravene any of the data protection principles as set out in the Data Protection Act 2018. Considering the release of this piece of information, I am of the view that releasing this personal data would not serve any legitimate public interest.
