Subject: Investigations related to East Timorese nationals employed within Northern Ireland

Question:

I request, under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, all recorded investigations between 2019 and 2025 concerning the exploitation, mistreatment or illegal recruitment of East Timorese nationals employed within 'Northern Ireland', particularly within the meat and poultry processing sectors.

Please include:

  • The companies or agencies investigated.
  • The nature of alleged exploitation (e.g. forced overtime, pay withholding, housing exploitation etc.)
  • The outcomes of any investigations.
