Educational video supporting international care workers available on Just Good Work app
26th August 2025
An educational video that was launched last month informing international care workers in the UK on their rights is now available on the Just Good Work app.
The video, which was produced in a collaboration between The Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA) and Justice and Care, provides essential guidance on what care workers should expect when working in the UK care sector. It covers key topics such as researching visas, sponsor responsibilities, daily life in the UK, and how to identify signs of labour exploitation.
The Just Good Work app is a platform that allows jobseekers and workers to access information and advice on living and working in the UK and is available in several languages.
With approximately 765,000 residential care workers and 810,000 domiciliary care workers in the UK, the sector has seen a significant influx of international workers.
Both GLAA and Justice and Care have reported a rise in exploitation cases within the care sector. Many workers arrive in the UK burdened by excessive recruitment fees, often having sold property or taken on debt to secure employment.
The video features real-life accounts from care workers and urges prospective workers to avoid agencies that charge illegal recruitment fees or impose exploitative conditions.
Andy Brown, National Investigations Manager at the GLAA said: “Having the video available on the app is a fantastic collaboration that allows workers to better understand what to expect regarding their visa sponsorship, and along with other resources available on the app, understand the UK care system a little bit more.”
The video is available in four languages including English, and offers links to regional support partners for those looking for employment.
The Just Good Work app is free to download, and is available on Apple and Android devices.
