Commemorating the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau
27th January 2025
Today (27 January) commemorates the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Entire families and communities were decimated during the Holocaust, and in numerous instances, the identities of the victims remain unknown.
On this Holocaust Memorial Day, we are presented with an opportunity to actively contribute to a more promising future. By educating ourselves about the Holocaust and more recent genocides, we can strive for a better future.
Although racism and hatred do not invariably culminate in genocide, we can endeavour to create a world where individuals do not endure prejudice or persecution based on their faith, ethnicity, or other characteristics.
