GLAA assists in securing three ‘slavery arrests’ in Norfolk

GLAA investigators assisted on a joint operation yesterday when three men were arrested by Norfolk Police on suspicion of modern day slavery and human trafficking offences.

The raid took place at a business in Station Street, Swaffham, yesterday morning after information was received that a number of workers had been trafficked and were being exploited.

As well as the GLAA, the police were assisted by a number of other agencies including National Crime Agency, HM Revenue and Customs, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, Health and Safety Executive, Salvation Army and Red Cross as well as Norfolk County Council and Breckland District Council.

Six workers were taken to a reception centre and will be supported by police and other agencies.

The arrested men were taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre, where they’ll be questioned in connection with modern slavery offences.
