Request for documents pre-2010

Freedom of Information Act Request

Ref: FOI 22-23 06

Date issued: 17 August 2022

Subject: Request for documents pre-2010

Question(s):

To assist me with my academic research, would you please arrange for copies of the following documentation to be sent to me:

1) A full copy of the Minutes of all meetings from April 2010 to November 2010 that may be numbered consecutively from approximately 26/8.7 through to 27.71. Meetings may include GLA Board meetings, Liaison meetings, general literature etc.

2) Full copies of any GLA and GLAA Annual Review Executive summaries for the years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and any consecutive Executive summaries to the present day.

3) Supermarket and Suppliers Protocol 2010

Response:

Under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), certain information is exempt from release. One exemption under section 21 (1) applies to information that is reasonably accessible to the applicant by other means. Your request falls into this category. The following is available on the GLAA website:

1)    Minutes for the period between April 2010 to November 2010 can be found online here: [link no longer available]. This includes Board minutes and various papers including Labour Provide Liaison Group minutes. Your request for ‘general literature’ is too broad. Under our duty to assist under s16 of the FOIA we may reconsider your request if you are able to narrow the focus of the request.

2)    We do not hold copies of the Annual Reviews and Executive Summaries that you reference. Under our Duty to Assist (s16), we advise you to look at the GLA(A) page on the National Archives website available online here: https://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ukgwa/*/http:/www.gla.gov.uk/. You may be particularly interested in the research page here: https://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ukgwa/20120425170059/http://gla.defra.gov.uk/Who-We-Are/Research/

3)    We do not hold a copy of the original Supermarket Protocol. Under our Duty to Assist (s16), we advise you to look at the National Archives website, particularly this page: https://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ukgwa/20100304111307/http://www.gla.gov.uk/

We advise you to save any documents you wish to review for your research, as we may remove them from the GLAA website in the future in line with our retention and destruction schedule.
