GLAA investigator opens up about modern slavery

18th October 2018

A modern slavery investigator has discussed the realities of the issue in Britain today, as the world marks Anti-Slavery Day.

Charlotte has provided an insight into her role as an investigating officer with the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA).

In a video interview, she talks about her experiences as an investigator - what modern slavery is, who is affected, how and why offenders exploit their victims, and what the public can do to help.

The interview has been released on Anti-Slavery Day (18th October), a world-wide event which aims to raise awareness of human trafficking and modern slavery, encouraging government, local authorities, companies, charities and people to do what they can to address the problem.

Are you concerned about potential exploitation?

Call the GLAA helpline on 0800 432 0804 or email intelligence@gla.gov.uk.
